Year of the Artist Lighting Installation

As part of 'Year of the Artist', international lighting designer Michael Hulls worked in residence with DanceEast, the National Dance Agency for the Eastern Region. He has created a gallery installation inspired by shadows and light. It invited members of the public to tread a journey of light, generating multiple, shifting shadows as they moved between screens. A complementary element comprised a projected video work of dancing shadows. The magnificent grade 1 listed Art Gallery provided a theatrical and substantial setting for the work.

Michael is acclaimed for his work with leading choreographers, dance companies, theatres, concert venues and cathedrals in over thirty countries.
