2 July – 30 July
This year the Art Society’s summer exhibition coincides with the completion
of the Cathedral tower which is making a permanent impact on the landscape of
Bury St Edmunds. It is a major achievement for the town, incorporating fine craftsmanship
and skilled engineering. The artist members of the Society will be exhibiting
a wide range of work but there will also be a section of the exhibition devoted
to their responses to this historic event. |

14 May – 25 June
This exhibition explores the degree of control exercised by different artists.
For many the idea that an artist would give up any measure of artistic control
is implausible, yet the artists in this exhibition do just that, some to a
greater degree than others. |

8 March – 16 April
For the first time, the graduates have been selected from the entire
eastern region; from Norfolk to Hertfordshire, from Bedfordshire
to Suffolk. As usual, the exhibition will feature graduates from
across all the visual arts based disciplines, but this year sees
a return to more traditional materials and practices. Painting,
textiles, photography, graphic and furniture design were particularly
strong. The receipt of an Arts Council grant has also enabled the
Gallery to commission large installation works and new work for
sale. Be among the first to spot the newest talent in the region.
