Out of Place explored the way that we occupy the space around us, shaping our environment to reflect our physical nature and aspirations.

The artists use landscapes and human figures in graphically bold and stimulating ways, creating visual representations of unpeopled places designed for human interaction, bodies isolated from their surroundings, and unusual juxtapositions of both figure and location.

Out of Place exhibited a dynamic mixture of video-performance, painting, sculpture, installation and photography by artists Eva Bensasson, William Cruickshank, Nick Dawes, Laura Green, Julia Montilla, Julian Opie, Gareth Morgan, Bridget Smith, Kerry Stewart and Zoë Walker.
