Rangoli is an ancient Indian tradition, a temporary spiritual decoration to welcome visitors and celebrate special occasions. The basic pattern is marked out on the ground with chalk and then filled in with flowers, lentils, coloured salt and other local natural materials. You will need to be quick to see the whole piece before it is disturbed or blown away.
