An exhibition of work by artists from Kevelaer and Bury St Edmunds
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the friendship between Kevelaer, in northern Germany, and Bury St Edmunds, the Gallery mounted an exhibition of work by artists from the two areas. The exhibition comprised work by 28 artists and included painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography. Most of the work was displayed in the Gallery but large-scale sculpture will be exhibited in the Abbey Gardens and the Cathedral.
The exhibition provided the opportunity for the British and German artists to form professional links and friendships. The artist from Kevelaer stayed in Suffolk for the opening of the exhibition in Bury St Edmunds, and when the exhibition moves on to Kevelaer the artists from this area will make a return visit.
