19 March - 30 March 2002 Every artist faces significant hurdles in order to make their ideas a reality. In making an artwork each chosen material presents different physical challenges, overcome through experimentation and by learning how the material responds and behaves. The nature of this creative process was exemplified in this fantastic display of the diverse and ambitious contemporary artworks produced by artists based at Barrington Farm, near Walcot in Norfolk.
Barrington Farm is a centre for 38 adults with learning difficulties. The excellent workshop facilities are staffed by practising artists who provide guidance with materials and techniques. By encouraging and nurturing individual talents the centre enables each artist to make their own creative decisions and explore their emotive responses to their chosen materials. Works by the artists are also exhibitied regularly at St Brannock's Gallery in Mundelsey.
